LCL February meeting minutes and April AGM date

March 14th, 2010 | ZoeCohen

Our February meeting was our best attended yet! Read the minutes here LCL Meeting Minutes 22 02 10.
Many interesting topics were discussed and show the range of progress LCL members are making. One example is the Insulation Campaign. Lymm’s housing stock has some poor levels of
insulation:

  • About 2000  homes have no cavity wall insulation;
  • 250 have less than two inches of loft insulation (below the recommended minimum level);
  • 587 have no insulation.

Since the meeting, Warrington Borough Council  has arranged for a thermal survey of the whole of Lymm by Heatseekers, starting week commencing 15th March. This will highlight those houses which are ‘leaking’ heat and it will be followed-up by letters to the target homes explaining the insulation scheme. Richard Pearce also proposed that LCL volunteers could be trained to provide basic home energy surveys and offer favourable rates with contractors who want to work with Lymm households.

*** Our next meeting will be our first AGM so please make a special effort to attend on Monday 12th April 2010 at 7.30pm at Oughtrington Community Centre.
